Camping in the Netherlands
If you have been in Europe before during the holiday season you probably noticed a lot of Dutch people with a caravan behind their car. The Dutch just love to go camping abroad or just in their own country.
But nowadays camping doesn’t just mean struggling to set up your tent anymore. There are a lot of modern ways to go camping. For example you can rent an all furnished tent a caravan or a lodge.
Holland is an ideal country for camping. The Netherlands has some beautiful country sides which are perfect for hiking, cycling or just relaxing. There are a lot of footpaths and cycle routes which guide you over canals and bridges, along its windmills and typical tulip dotted fields.
You could go camping in the more rural areas but if you also want to experience the city life a little bit we recommend to go to a campsite at the edge of Amsterdam.
Most campsites open in spring and close at the end of October, but there are also some that stay open all year.
