The city of Amsterdam has an extensive public transport network which constists of buses, trams, metros, trains and ferries. Also there are a lot of taxis to be found in the city.

In total the public transport system in Amsterdam consists of eighteen tram lines, a light rail line, many bus lines, nine ferry lines, three metro lines and several national and international train connections.

The GVB (dutch public transport provider) is responsible for your tavel by bus, metro, tram and ferry so you can aslo check their page for the most up to date information.

The NS (dutch railway company) is responsible for travelling by rail.

To tavel from downtown Amsterdam by train to the biggest airport in the Netherlands, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, will take you about twenty minutes.
